How to Video Chat with People from a Specific Country
Want to meet someone from Japan, Brazil, Nigeria or Germany? The country filter on Jusslive is free and takes two taps.
How to use the country filter
- Open Jusslive.
- Tap Country at the top of the video area.
- Search for a country and select it. The default is Worldwide.
- Start chatting. You will only be matched with people who are in that country.
The country filter is free. If you change it during a chat, you will be moved to a new match that fits.
How your country is detected
Jusslive works out your country automatically from your internet connection. Your partner sees only the country, not your city or address. If you use a VPN, the country shown will be the VPN's location, which may not match where you really are.
Both sides have to fit
A match happens only when both people's filters allow it. If you choose a country, you will meet people located there. If the other person has also chosen a country, it must be yours. That keeps the experience fair for everyone.
Why you might wait longer with a country filter
Choosing one country shrinks the pool of people online. If you are waiting longer than you would like:
- try again at the time of day that is evening in that country;
- switch back to Worldwide for a few minutes, then change the country again;
- try a neighbouring country with a shared language.
Make the most of it
- Mind the time zone. Meeting someone at 3 a.m. their time is less likely to go well than in their evening.
- Be curious about local life. Ask about food, festivals, school or work, and what they would show a visitor.
- Practise a language. See our language practice guide.
- Stay safe. Read our safety tips.
