Split Screen Video Chat: Choose Your Camera View

Updated October 25, 2026 · 2 min read · By the Jusslive team

Jusslive lets you change how you and your partner appear on screen while you chat. Pick split screen, side by side, picture-in-picture or a large self-view, and flip between your front and back camera on a phone.

The four camera views

During a call, tap the layout button on the right edge of the video, or press L on your keyboard to cycle through the views. Your choice is saved, so the next chat opens the same way.

Flip between front and back camera

If your device has more than one camera, a camera button appears on the right side of the video. With two cameras, such as a phone's front and back, one tap flips between them. With three or more, a list opens so you can pick the one you want. On a laptop with a single webcam the button does not appear. If you plug in an external USB webcam, it shows up and you can switch between the built-in and external cameras.

Beauty mode, face filters and our safety checks keep working after you switch cameras.

Troubleshooting

If a camera does not appear in the list, close any other app that is using it and allow camera access in your browser. Our camera and microphone troubleshooting guide walks through the common fixes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get split screen on Jusslive?

During a call, tap the layout button on the right of the video and choose Split screen. Your partner is shown on top and you are on the bottom.

Can I put my own camera on the bottom and my partner on top?

Yes. That is the Split screen view. Side by side puts you next to each other, and Me large makes your own camera the big picture.

How do I switch between front and back camera?

If your device has more than one camera, tap the camera button on the right side of the video. With two cameras it flips instantly, and with more it opens a list.

Does the camera view change what my partner sees?

No. Camera views only change how the screen looks to you. Your partner chooses their own view.
